Review of 'Ethiopia Boy' - Mark Sanderson, Seven (Supp to The Sunday Telegraph, 24th February 2013
Chris Beckett relives his exotic Sixties childhood in Ethiopia Boy. Colourful incantations evoke the sights and sounds and above all the food of the East African nation: 'Staring eggs, long stick- / tooth shreds of goat, gooey / angel peas and half-bean kikwot' ('Wot?'). Wot, a stew, makes up part of the national dish.
