  • Vala Thorodds (1989–) was born in Iceland and grew up in Reykjavík, upstate New York, and South Bend, Indiana. As a poet she has been nominated for the PEN New Voices Award (2014) and her poetry has been published online and in print in The White Review, Poetry Wales, Ambit, Tongue, Hotel, and elsewhere. A selection of her poems is published in the anthology New Poetries VII (Carcanet, 2018).
