  • About
  • Pierre de Ronsard was a French poet born in 1524. He was known as the Prince of Poets among his contemporaries - though he only opted for a life dedicated to study and writing after incurable deafness ended a promising diplomatic career prematurely. He enjoyed generous patronage from Charles IX. Many of the characters among his work are considered to be the most colourful and remarkable in literary history.
