Mach two the green sign glows;
      You’re far behind
Fifty thousand feet shows.
      And far below.

Crew start dinner service,
      We ate hours back,
Ask ‘Scotch, soda, claret?’
      Our voices low.

Gladly I’d have missed this plane,
      Had you but asked,
To run with you again at dawn
      Hyde Park’s pale rose lined paths.
